Fly between the continental U.S. and Brazil, Chile, Argentina, and Peru for as few as 50,000 Delta miles roundtrip in coach, 105,000 miles in Delta One.
That’s the gist of Delta’s latest flash sale on SkyMiles award travel. It is a flash sale. As in: Book by 11:59 p.m. EST on April 19.
Award traveling itself could be performed between August 1, while the booking has to be made in short order.
Deal or No Deal
Published award deals for South America award travel range from under 100,000 to travel for roundtrip Delta One, and from the low 300s in coach. So the discounts are considerable. And also the fact that Delta is discounting award travel is a positive for SkyMiles members, as well. Although it may leave them wondering which are the “normal” costs: the discounted rates, or even the non-discounted rates. Together with the almost certain prospect of more award winning earnings to come, it certainly makes ponying up the “normal” award cost seem like an unnecessary extravagance.
As is always true for flash sales, the booking imperative is a negative.
Still, worth a look if you have Delta miles in your hand and strategy (or could plan) a trip on some of the discounted routes from the coming months.
